MLP team update

Welcome to the first edition of your MLP team update.

Alongside our topical and financial blogs, every few months we’ll share what we’ve been up to at MLP and what we’re looking forward to in the future.

We’ve been working hard to find new ways to engage with the local community, as well as using our downtime to connect with our existing clients and each other!

Read on to find out everything we’ve been up to at MLP in recent months.

Your chance to win a prize, our chance to connect with you!

If you walk past our shopfront window on the High Street, you’ll see a football fit for the champions. And if you win our raffle, it could be yours to keep!

There’s no sales pitch from us, all you need to do to enter is leave your name and number and the prize could be yours. But hurry because we’ll be closing the raffle soon!

We aim to be the go-to financial planners in the local community. So, we want to get to know you and your unique aspirations, circumstances, and life goals.

While we are proud of our existing roster, we are always excited to meet prospective clients and find ways to help the community achieve their financial objectives.

So, to boost our community engagement and with the Euros just passed, we’ve been running a football-themed raffle.

And even if you’re not a fan of the beautiful game, don’t let that deter you from entering! The football could make the perfect gift for your child or grandchild enthused with Euros fever.

If football isn’t for you or anyone you know, we’ll run another raffle soon and we’re all ears for future prize suggestions.

So, pop in and say hello, what have you got to lose?

We are proud to feature in VouchedFor’s 2024 Top Rated Financial Advisers Guide

We are proud that once again VouchedFor has included us in their Top Rated Financial Advisers Guide, as featured in the Times, the Mail on Sunday, and the Telegraph.

This means we have now featured in every guide since their first release over seven years ago!

The guide includes listings of all the featured advisers as well as examples of how they have made a meaningful difference with their clients.

Ensuring our clients positively receive our work and making a difference to their lives are our top priorities. So, we are honoured to have been among the highest-rated advisers and have one of the highest review numbers in the guide.

We want to extend our gratitude and say a huge thank you to all our clients who left such lovely reviews and helped ensure we continue to feature.

A lovely client recognised Claire’s amazing work – and gifted her for it!

Claire has been part of the MLP family for nearly nine years now and is an integral part of the team.

Recently, she has been supporting a client through a particularly challenging time in their life, making contact and checking in with them on a regular basis.

The client was so grateful to Claire for both her work and her personable approach, that they sent her a bunch of roses to say thank you.

Everyone at MLP knows just how amazing Claire is and it’s clear her clients do too.

Well done Claire!

We’ve had some great team nights out

Though we certainly know how to knuckle down when we need to, it’s not all work, work, work at MLP, and we’ve recently had some great team nights out.

We find that taking time out to have fun together is really important to bringing joy to our jobs and solidifying our relationships as a team.

First up, Sue, our wonderful Social Secretary, organised a pizza night followed by bowling. It was a roaring success, though it turns out we’re much better at eating pizza than scoring strikes!

Then, we went for a team wild swim!

The pond is located in Reigate at a place called The Shac, which came highly recommended by a client.

Initially, some of us were hesitant about diving into the freezing water at night, but it turned out to be a wonderful experience for everyone.

Seán discovered that the cold water did wonders for his hip and back injuries, while Paul took the opportunity to chase after a swan—each to their own!

The other swimmers were incredibly friendly, creating a laid-back and welcoming atmosphere for us newcomers.

It's a beautiful spot, and swimming in natural water feels like a genuine return to nature. And there's a communal fire to gather around where you can dry off or watch and stay warm if swimming is not for you.

Our wine tasting evening went down a treat

We also like to have fun events with our clients and recently enjoyed an evening of wine tasting.

Tim Killen, a local independent wine consultant, hosted the event and gave us an excellent presentation on each wine and the regions they came from.

All the wine was made in either France or Italy. Tim paired one from each country with one from the other and we asked attendees to vote for which tipples they enjoyed the most. Much to everyone’s surprise, Italy won!

We want to say a huge thank you to Banstead Vintners who supplied us with every bottle. Well done to Paul for organising the evening and of course all the MLP team who worked hard setting up the event and making sure everyone’s glasses were duly filled – including their own!

If you’d like to attend a future client event, please get in touch.

We hope you’ve enjoyed reading about what the MLP team has been up to, and look out for our next update coming soon.
