MLP team update for January

Welcome to the January edition of your MLP team update.

The Christmas holidays were fun and filled with exciting news! From festive jumper competitions and birthday celebrations to memorable family trips and the highs and lows of a football match, there’s been plenty going on at MLP.

Read on to catch up on all the latest updates.

The MLP team had a blast at the Christmas party

Every year, the MLP Wealth Management Christmas party is a highlight of our calendar. It’s a wonderful opportunity for our team to come together, celebrate, and enjoy the festive season in great company.

We’re lucky to have a fantastic team whose camaraderie makes the event even more enjoyable.

In keeping with our commitment to supporting local businesses, we kick off the evening with drinks at the office, followed by a meal at a nearby restaurant – perfect for soaking up some of the wine we enjoyed earlier in the night!

Of course, no Christmas party is complete without a little friendly competition, so we always run a Christmas jumper contest, with outrageous designs scoring the highest marks.

Take a look at the photo below. Who do you think won this year?

Seán enjoyed his family trips (despite the football results)

Seán recently visited his family in Italy and made the most of the trip by introducing his six-year-old son to the legendary “Old Lady” herself – Juventus FC! Paul and Seán are both avid Juventus supporters.

Clearly in the football spirit, back in the UK, Seán took his son and nephew – who’s also his godson – to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where they watched Spurs take on Newcastle. It was his son’s first visit to the ground, and given their support for the team, it’s safe to say it won’t be his last!

The boys had a fantastic time in the electric atmosphere of the stadium, even though Spurs narrowly lost 2-1.

While the result wasn’t the one they’d hoped for, the memories they made and shared were undoubtedly a win!

We’re top rated again!

MLP is proud to once again be included in VouchedFor’s Top Rated Financial Advisers (2025). We’ve had the honour of featuring in these guides every year since they began nearly eight years ago.

What earns us this recognition? It’s the feedback from our clients – the people whose opinions matter most to us.

Providing exceptional service and adding real value remain at the heart of everything we do, and it’s rewarding to see this reflected in the feedback we get and our continued inclusion in these guides.

We’d like to say thank you to VouchedFor for making financial advice more accessible, and to you, our clients for your continued trust and support. We couldn’t have achieved this without you.

We celebrated Leigh’s birthday

We’d like to wish a happy birthday to Leigh Loney, one of the newest members of MLP, who works in our Adviser Support team.

As a self-confessed “Lego nut,” there was only one gift that made sense for us to get her…

So, we bought her a Lego figure that moves and sits down (though not on its own!). The set was around 500 pieces in total – any guesses on how long it took her to build?

Of course, Leigh also received a cake with candles to celebrate, but as expected, it didn’t last long in the MLP office.

Leigh’s been a great addition to the team, and we hope to celebrate many more birthdays and Lego constructions with her in the years to come!

See you next time!

We hope you’ve enjoyed reading about what the MLP team has been up to. Look out for our next update coming soon.
