Welcome to the latest edition of your MLP team update.

The past few months have been incredibly busy and filled with exciting news!

We’ve enhanced our office space, welcomed a new team member, featured in a couple of newspapers, celebrated award wins, and hosted our annual "summer" barbecue.

To top it off, we’ve included a fun MLP-themed quiz to help you get to know us better.

Our office just gets better and better

We’ve been adding some finishing touches after our office redesign this summer, though there may be more to come…

To add to the new look office, we bought some new desks!

While you may not think desks are anything to get too excited about, we beg to differ.

First, they enhance the client experience. When clients entrust someone with their finances (or any service for that matter), many subconscious factors come into play. A well-designed office fosters confidence, and by adding a stylish desk to our reception area, we've made the space more inviting for walk-ins.

Second, the desks contribute to our branding and our ongoing mission to ensure MLP’s aesthetic creates a sense of comfort and trust. We want clients to feel at home and in safe hands from the moment they enter.

Finally, these desks show our commitment to valuing our staff. We've tailored them to meet specific staff requests, ensuring maximum comfort in the workplace. In fact, both Paul and Seán admitted they were a little jealous when they saw them!

A huge thank you to Alice Molinari (Seán’s wife) for her continued efforts in refining our office space and to the talented carpenters who brought these desks to life!

Our provider won an award at the Money Marketing Awards

We were thrilled to see one of our preferred providers, Quilter, recognised at the Money Marketing Awards 2024.

After a successful night, they went home with awards for:

These wins are particularly meaningful since retirement planning is one of our key specialisms.

As independent Chartered Financial Planners at MLP Wealth Management, we conduct thorough, in-depth research to ensure our clients receive the best products available. It’s great to see our choices validated by third-party recognition.

We have a new member of the MLP team

We're thrilled to welcome Leigh Loney as our latest addition to MLP!

With five years of industry experience, we’re confident Leigh will be a fantastic addition to our Adviser Support team.

At MLP, we are highly selective in our hiring process. Every time we bring someone on board, we aim to raise the bar, ensuring they not only have the skills but also align with our culture.

In fact, we recently passed on a candidate over a minor doubt, because we believe it's better to miss out than hire the wrong fit. For those who do join us, our goal is for them to be with us for the long haul.

So, we want to take this opportunity to give another big friendly welcome and congratulations to Leigh!

We featured in FTAdviser

Seán and Paul were recently interviewed by Tara O’Connor for FTAdviser (follow the link to read the article) where they discussed their mission to shift perceptions of financial planning and attract more young talent to the industry.

With nearly 30% of advisers set to retire in the next five years, the financial planning sector faces a growing challenge.

Seán and Paul used the interview to urge their peers to take action – encouraging firms to launch trainee programs and show that financial planning is not only important but also an exciting career choice.

At MLP, we want the next generation to aspire to become financial planners, and for parents to see it as a respected and rewarding profession for their children.

We hosted an MLP “summer” barbeque

We recently hosted our annual "summer" barbecue – though it felt more like an autumn gathering!

Since Seán and Paul took the reins at MLP, these barbecues have become a cherished tradition, giving us a chance to soak up the last bit of sunshine and thank the team for all their hard work.

Paul generously hosts the event at his home, inviting not just our staff but also their partners and children. It’s our way of giving back to the team while fostering a relaxed, fun environment for everyone to connect outside the office.

Beyond being a thank you, the barbecue strengthens our team dynamic, helping to build friendships and foster the collective spirit that’s so crucial for a thriving business.

This year, we were fortunate with the weather – clear skies all day! As the evening cooled, we even built a heater together, turning it into an impromptu team-building activity that kept the atmosphere warm and lively.
