MLP team update
Welcome to the latest edition of your MLP team update.
The past few months at MLP have been very exciting!
Our offices have had a makeover, we’ve celebrated the career of a long-time employee, we’ve started funding CPR training courses, and, of course, there’s been plenty of time for some summer holiday fun.
Read on to find out everything that’s been happening at MLP in recent months.
The MLP office has had a makeover
This summer, we’ve given the MLP office a bit of a makeover, and we’re delighted with the new look!
Seán’s talented wife, Alice Molinari, an accomplished interior designer, is behind the layout, and everyone in the office is grateful for her creative vision and expertise. We’d also like to say a big thank you to P&P Glass for supplying and fitting the new glass divide.
Alice’s designs aren't just there for aesthetic purposes – though they certainly tick that box – they're also about creating a space that works better for everyone.
You can see a range of photos (as well as the one below) on Seán’s LinkedIn where you can also stay updated on the future changes we will be making to the office as there is still more to come!
Our main goals for the initial redesign were to:
Strengthen our branding – We wanted to create a cohesive, professional look that reflects our values and ethos.
Enhance client experience – We aimed to build a warm, inviting space that makes our clients feel valued and at ease.
Add character – We believe our new offices are unique, as they tell the story of MLP and how we got to where we are.
Improve functionality – We built a designated waiting area that ensures comfort and efficiency.
Boost privacy – The opaque panels ensure our team has privacy when working with sensitive client information.
But don't take our word for it, pop in for a coffee and have a look around!
We have a new defibrillator outside our office
As well as changes to the inside of our office, we also have a new addition to the outside, though it’s perhaps not as aesthetically pleasing.
We now have a defibrillator on the external wall of the office (you can see where in the picture below).
We obtained it to help our local community, and we’re also paying for CPR and defibrillator training courses. After everyone at MLP thoroughly enjoyed and benefited from the CPR course they completed last month, we wanted to extend that opportunity to others.
Please email us if you’re interested in an in-person CPR and defibrillator training session paid for by MLP.
Claire has been part of the MLP family for 9 years
Claire recently celebrated her ninth anniversary at MLP, so we thought we’d take some time to let everyone know just how wonderful she is!
As an Adviser Supporter, Claire’s been an invaluable member of the team during her time here. She is loved by her colleagues and clients alike, and she is as renowned for her ability to get jobs done quickly and efficiently as she is for her laughter and sense of humour – particularly on team nights out!
Claire also stepped up during Covid and was part of a two-person team that continued to work from the office during the lockdowns.
If you meet Claire be sure to ask her about her extra-curricular exploits, including her years as a community police officer and her love of trekking, horse riding, and skiing!
Thank you Claire for all you’ve helped us with over the years!
See if you can spot the gift we got Claire in the picture below (aside from the obligatory golden balloon of course).
Seán’s family festival experience
In August, Seán took a break from the usual hustle and bustle and headed to the Camper Calling family festival with his wife and children.
Finding a balance between the demands of running a financial planning business and ensuring you have enough energy for fun family activities is challenging, and Seán has taken it upon himself to improve.
As he always tells his clients, a financial plan isn’t just about the numbers. It's also crucial to recharge outside of work and enjoy yourself, as these experiences are key to feeling energised and maintaining a balanced life.
So, Seán was over the moon that his kids (and him and his wife) had such a blast at Camper Calling!
The whole family spent some quality time together and with other family friends who also came along for the fun. Seán’s daughter even took a few of her first steps!
The older kids were safe to roam free, have fun at the fairground, and just, well, be kids.
The camping grounds are beautiful (they were, admittedly, in the VIP area), and spending the night times under the stars and the day times in the sun was a fantastic way of reconnecting with nature.
There was amazing music for kids and grownups alike and, to top it all off, there was no phone reception in the great outdoors, so everyone was forced to unplug and live in the moment – even if just for the weekend.
When Seán checked his fitness watch at the end of the festival, he found that – despite his lack of sleep – his heart rate variability (HRV) had hit an all-time high!
So, despite the late nights and early mornings, the positive energy and fun atmosphere of the festival had a noticeably revitalising effect on his well-being, highlighting the importance of balance and enjoyment for overall health – much like the best financial plans!
We hope you’ve enjoyed reading about what the MLP team has been up to this summer. Look out for our next update coming soon.
