We celebrated James’ and Seán’s birthdays

Last month, we celebrated both James’ and Sean’s birthdays, but we also managed to squeeze in another celebration.

James is one of our Financial Planners. He’s come a long way since joining MLP, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down!

He’s now been with us for four years, each of which is represented in the four candles you can see in the picture.

As a business, one of the most rewarding things is seeing people develop their potential, and it’s been a joy watching James do just that.

We also celebrated Seán’s birthday, and he was excited to unwrap the Buddha water feature (and all the other gifts!) the MLP team had got him.

Seán spent the day on his bike, with his family, eating delicious food, and of course, working!

Happy birthday chaps, here’s to many more!

Seán was interviewed by FTAdviser

FTAdviser recently wrote an article on whether cryptocurrency is a good investment or not. Donald Trump seems to think so, but others are not so sure.

Seán was interviewed for the article, and his views on crypto haven’t changed – cryptocurrency is not an investment, it's a gamble.

He goes on to say that there are far less risky ways of investing that are tried and tested. At the time of the interview, Trump was outspoken in his support for cryptocurrency. Regardless of what one thinks of him, Seán views his approach as a good example of effective marketing. By launching his own cryptocurrency, Trump has gained significant exposure. This has contributed to a rise in the crypto’s value and positioned Trump to potentially exert greater influence over its performance.

You can read more about Seán’s take on the subject in the article on the FTAdviser website.

We welcomed a new addition to the team!

It’s been a busy transfer window at MLP, and we’re thrilled to welcome Katie Ross on board.

Katie brings a wealth of experience from another independent advisory firm, where she built strong relationships and managed a client bank. She was happy in her role, but when the opportunity to join MLP came along, it was simply too good to turn down.

This is a big moment for us. The financial advice industry is crying out for more young professionals, especially more women. The average age of an adviser is 59, and only a handful of women applying for advisory roles over the past seven years, Katie’s arrival brings a refreshing change.

Her talents extend beyond financial planning. With experience in marketing and social media, Katie brings fresh energy and a dynamic perspective to the team.

She joins us as an employed Independent Financial Planner and will be helping us deliver even more regular reviews and a stronger client experience across the board.

We’re genuinely excited to have her with us – welcome Katie!

We’re top rated – again!

We’re delighted to have been included in the VouchedFor Top Rated financial advisers guide in The Times.

Of the approximately 6,000 authorised financial advice firms in the UK, only 131 are included in the guide, marking us as one of the best in the sector and as Banstead's only top-rated firm.

In total, we’ve had 699 VouchedFor reviews with an overall rating of 4.9 out of 5.

Our advisers, Paul, James, Paolo, and Seán, were also all recognised as top rated and ranked top in their respective local areas.

Our inclusion is a testament to the hard work of the whole MLP team and their commitment to supporting our clients. A massive thank you to all of them!

And, of course, we couldn’t achieve top-rated status without our clients' ongoing support, so thank you. It’s a privilege to be trusted by you, and we look forward to continuing our work in helping you achieve your long-term goals.

We’ve made some more office updates

After spending some time downstairs at the MLP offices, Seán realised that the chairs could do with some updating. And, when the MLP team was asked for feedback, chairs came up as a key improvement.

So, we finally made the upgrade!

We believe that creating a comfortable and professional environment isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about making sure our team is at its best so they can serve clients at the highest level.

While the original plan was to get black chairs, we opted for a tan colour instead (and they’re incredibly comfortable!).

Our garden work supports our community and our clients

We believe in giving back, both to our community and to our clients. That’s why we keep our high street planters looking great for everyone to enjoy.

Recently, a local client – who we helped retire – told us that he was doing bits of gardening now that he no longer had to work full time.

So, when we next went to maintain our planters, we hired him.

Not only did he do a fantastic job at a great price, but it felt amazing to support a client in his next chapter while also adding some life to the local high street.

See you next time!

We hope you’ve enjoyed reading about what the MLP team has been up to. Look out for our next update coming soon.
